Screw piles and helical anchors stand out from other foundation and anchoring systems because they offer a significant advantage: immediate loading capacity after installation. This eliminates the waiting period for materials like concrete or grout to set and harden.
Helical piles, also known as helical piers, helical anchors, or posts, are screw-in piles designed to construct deep foundation and ground anchoring systems. A helical pile comprises a central shaft (circular or square) and one or more helix plates. These helix plates are press-formed with a specific pitch to resemble a screw and are welded to the shaft. Helical piles come in various sizes and configurations to accommodate loading and logistical demands. The size and configuration of a helical pile depend on factors such as design load, soil conditions, soil corrosiveness, and the structure's service life.
The load is transferred from the shaft to the helix plate(s) as the helical pile is driven below grade into the sturdiest soil conditions. A high-torque/low-speed hydraulic drive motor, which can be attached to diverse types of equipment like excavators and skid steers, "screws" the helical pile into the ground. High water tables or caving soil conditions do not impact helical piles.
Mascore Helical Piles provide strong, long-lasting foundations for a wide range of applications. By integrating helical piles into your upcoming project's foundation design, you can save time and money.
